Greens Blond – Gluten Free Beer

The Verdict

When Green’s Beers very kindly sent us a selection of their beers to sample, my husband made sure that he was chief taster.

The Blond Ale had a light hoppy aroma to it, it was barely discernible.  It had quite a sweet flavour, similar to Leffe Blond with a hint of Duvel.  The similarity to Duvel is probably due to the use of Saaz hops, but Green’s Blond also uses Hallertau and Nelson Sauvin.

The initial impression was that it didn’t have a strong enough flavour but the aftertaste certainly made up for this and we were left wanting more.

It was a lovely amber colour and had a nice creamy head which stayed until the bottom of the glass (which wasn’t for long as it tasted so nice).
