Amy’s Kitchen Lentil Vegetable Soup

Amys Kitchen Lentil Soup

The following product review is for Amy’s Kitchen Lentil Vegetable Soup.

Amy’s Kitchen are the leading natural frozen food brand in the USA, they have been in business in the USA since 1987 and in 2010 they opened a factory in the UK.  They are currently expanding into France and Germany and are aiming to continue their expansion into Scandinavia in the very near future.

Although the company has grown considerably over the years, it still remains a family owned and operated business who are committed to using only the finest grains, fruits and vegetables and to ensuring that there aren’t any additives or preservatives in their products.

We first discovered Amy’s Kitchen when we visited The Allergy and Free From Show North.  As soon as we arrived at the Allergy Show, one of my daughters honed in on the Amy’s Kitchen stand and sampled the Lentil Vegetable soup, she was immediately hooked.  I think that she tried three samples of it before we managed to drag her away persuade her to visit another stand (with the promise that we would return the following day)!  Considering she had only just finished her breakfast before arriving at the show I was amazed that she had room for anything, let alone three servings.

The Verdict

The first thing we noticed when we opened the tin of soup was the fairly pungent smell of garlic.  This smell would normally have put me off and had me running for the hills as I really dislike garlic.  But as I’d already tried a sample of this soup at the Allergy Show I knew that you couldn’t actually taste the garlic.   Once the soup was heated it smelled a lot more appetising.

You can taste the lovely quality of the vegetables and lentils that this soup is packed with, the soup has a really thick consistency similar to that of vegetable stew.  It is so filling and satisfying,  it is like a meal in itself.

We all enjoyed the soup and my daughter (who is now addicted to it) said that it’s the nicest soup that she has ever had.

Close Up Of Amys Kitchen Lentil Soup

On first impressions, it does appear a bit pricey as it seems to vary between £1.49 and £1.75 per tin, but when you consider the quality of the produce and the fact that a tin will suffice as a meal, it seems pretty reasonable value.

This was our first purchase from Amy’s Kitchen and it certainly won’t be our last.  I am currently trying to track down some of their Dairy Free Rice Mac and Cheese that my husband is really keen to have again after sampling it at the Allergy Show.
