The following sun lotion product review is for Clarins Sun Care Cream, High Protection For Children – UVB30.
One of my daughter’s has extremely pale skin, she is sun sensitive and burns very easily. Her skin also unfortunately appears to be sensitive to sun lotions and she usually ends up covered in a rashes from the sun and the lotions. We have tried many different lotions on her over the years and I came across this particular product last Summer.
We have also reviewed other Sun Lotions which you may like to read about in our “Sun Care” category.
Manufactured By: Clarins
According to Clarins this Sun cream is; “100% Natural Mineral Filters – Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide – offers the most effective sun protection for children’s delicate skin. Easy and gentle to apply, it’s kind to eyes and is resistant to water, sand, heat and salt. The super-soft cream texture ensures every centimetre of skin is covered and it’s been specially designed to stay visible on the skin.”
Apply carefully to dry skin before sun exposure. Reapply at least every two hours and always after swimming. Remember to get children to wear a hat, T-shirt and sunglasses and avoid direct exposure during maximum sun intensity (between 12pm and 4pm). Children under the age of 3 should not be exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.
It also states on the back of the container that it has been Allergy Tested.
The product size is 125 ml.
This smells really pleasant, it smells more like a lightly fragranced body lotion than sun tan lotion.
The consistency is definitely that of cream rather than lotion. As with any high factor product we have come across it needs a little more effort to apply compared to sun lotion. It does need rubbing into the skin as it is not immediately absorbed but once you have rubbed the cream in it feels lovely. It doesn’t feel thick or sticky once applied like some of the Higher factor products we have previously used and once it has been absorbed your skin feels soft and silk like.
It doesn’t appear to sweat off as easily as other lotions we have used. You can also see where it has been applied as the skin has a whitish/grey tinge to it.
None of the three girls experienced a rash or skin irritation due to this sun cream, even our most sun sensitive daughter the “English Rose” was fine and remained rash free.
