Raw Skin Food – Imperial Whipped Range for Normal / Combination Skin – Review

This product review is for Raw Skin Food’s Imperial Whipped Range for Normal / Combination Skins.

Raw Skin Food is a cosmetics company based in the United Kingdom which specialises in allergy free, vegan and organic skincare products.

Raw Skin Food very kindly sent us free samples from two of their ranges that suited our particular skin types to review.

This review is for the Imperial Whipped Range and we have also reviewed their Mab Fabulous Range which is suitable for Hyper Sensitive / Oily Skin Types.

The product packaging states:

100% Vegan & Natural. Hypoallergenic, Chemical Free & Humane Cosmetics, Standards Approved.
Eco Packaging, Ethical Beauty, Cruelty Free, 100% Allergen Free

Available as:

Imperial Whipped Balancing Cleansing Milk – Facial Cleanser 100ml
Imperial Whipped Balancing Tonique – Facial Mist 100ml
Imperial Whipped Balancing Face and Body Balm – Facial and Body Moisturiser 50ml

Tested By:

My two eldest daughters (aged 10 and 11 years old) tested this particular product range as they both have normal skin types. I always try and find products containing as few chemicals as possible wherever the girls are concerned so I was really keen for them to try the Imperial Whipped Range. I have been looking for natural skincare products that are chemical free and reasonably priced for some time now in the hope that once I buy them their own products they will then stop using up all of mine (Please take note girls!)

First Impression

The products are attractively packaged in PET Recycled Plastic containers. The contents are very natural looking and the balm is a very pale lemon colour, all three products have a really fresh lemongrass smell to them but it isn’t overpowering it just smells really invigorating.

Raw Skin Food Imperial Whipped Facial Cleanser for Normal / Combination Skin

Imperial Whipped Balancing Cleansing Milk – Facial Cleanser

The Verdict

After applying one or two squirts of the cleanser onto a cotton wool pad, the girls then wiped this over their faces and necks. I think they found this to be a bit of a novelty as they normally just wash their faces in the shower or over the sink using a product that is rinsed off. They both liked the cleanser and it left their faces feeling very clean.

Raw Skin Food Imperial Whipped Facial Mist for Normal / Combination Skin

Imperial Whipped Balancing Tonique – Facial Mist

The Verdict

Once you have used the cleanser, you then use the tonique spray. Holding the tonique around 7 to 10cms from your face you spray it evenly over your face. You need to wait a few minutes for it to set before applying your Balm.

The girls really liked this tonique, they said that it left their faces feeling really nice and refreshed.

Next comes the….

Raw Skin Food Imperial Whipped Moisteriser for Normal / Combination skin

Imperial Whipped Balancing Face and Body Balm – Facial and Body Moisturiser

The Verdict

The moisturiser has a thick consistency and as it is so concentrated you only need to use it sparingly, meaning that the contents of this 50ml pot will go a long way which makes this very affordable which is great news.

A pea sized amount of this balm will last you the whole day. The balm left the girls’ skin with a glowing appearance, and my husband commented to my younger daughter that her skin looked lovely. My eldest daughter’s friend told her that her face looked like she was sweating so that put her off a bit, maybe she had been a bit heavy handed with the balm that day and had used more than was necessary.

Final Verdict

What I really like about the Raw Skin Food Products (other than the very reasonable price point) is that they are completely free from the 8 common food allergens which means that none of the products contain any Soya, Wheat (Gluten), Dairy, Eggs, Shellfish, Fish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts. Also none of the products contain any harmful ingredients such as Alcohol, Glycerine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Palm Oil), Petroleum, Beeswax, Parabens, Lanolin which potentially can act as skin drying agents.
