Tested By:

I tested this particular product range as I have got extremely sensitive skin and although I have combination skin I tend to prefer Oil Free Products as I find that any creams or lotions that are thick, heavy, greasy or perfumed make my skin feel terrible. I can tell pretty much straight away if I have applied something that isn’t suitable as I feel like I have got something crawling under the skin on my face. I was keen to try this range of products as they are reasonably priced and I liked the thought of applying products that are both allergen and chemical free.

First Impression

The products are attractively packaged in PET Recycled Plastic containers. The contents are very natural looking as they have no added colourings and they are almost odourless so no nasty overpowering perfumed smells here.

Mab Fabulous Superbly Gentle Cleansing Milk – Facial Cleanser

The Verdict

After applying one or two squirts of the cleanser onto a cotton wool pad, I then wiped this over my face and neck. This felt a bit unusual for me as I am more familiar with using a cleanser or face scrub that I then wash off with water. The cleanser didn’t cause any irritation to my skin or leave it feeling at all greasy.

This was then followed by….

Raw Skin Food's Mab Fabulous Facial Mist

Mab Fabulous Superbly Gentle Tonique – Facial Mist

The Verdict

Once you have used the cleanser, you then use the tonique spray. Holding the tonique around 7 to 10cms from your face you spray it evenly over your face. You need to wait a few minutes for it to set before applying your Balm.

I really liked this tonique, it felt nice and refreshing when sprayed onto my face and it left my skin feeling lovely and soft. This was my favourite of the 3 products in the Mab Fabulous range. I found that for the best results you needed to give the tonique a good shake before spraying it as this delivered a finer mist. If you feel that your skin needs its hydration levels topping up during the day then you can just treat yourself to another spritz of the tonique.

Next comes the….

Raw Skin Food's Mab Fabulous Face & Body Moisturiser

Mab Fabulous Superbly Gentle Face and Body Balm – Facial and Body Moisturiser

The Verdict

The best way that I can describe the consistency of this balm is that it reminds me of Vicks Vaporub (the ointment you used to have rubbed onto your chest and back when your were a kid!) and Vaseline. It is extremely concentrated so you only need to use a very small amount which is good news for anyone watching their pennies (and let’s face it who isn’t).

You only need to use a pea sized amount of this balm and that will last you the whole day. This balm didn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all and did leave it extremely well moisturised. My personal preference is a moisturiser that is very light and is immediately absorbed into the skin so this wasn’t quite right for me as it took a while to be fully absorbed, however it did leave my face with a healthy looking glow.

Final Verdict

What I really like about the Raw Skin Food Products (other than the very reasonable price point) is that they are completely free from the 8 common food allergens which means that none of the products contain any Soya, Wheat (Gluten), Dairy, Eggs, Shellfish, Fish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts. Also none of the products contain any harmful ingredients such as Alcohol, Glycerine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Palm Oil), Petroleum, Beeswax, Parabens, Lanolin which potentially can act as skin drying agents.
