The LittleCote Soap Co Natural Lip Balm Pink Champagne Review

This product review is for The LittleCote Soap Co. “Pink Champagne” Natural Lip Balm.

The LittleCote Soap Co. manufacture natural toiletries and bath products by hand.  The products are all made using natural ingredients from their base on a working farm in the Buckinghamshire countryside.  Giving up her career in Television, Elaine Stavert founded The LittleCote Soap Co.

Tested By:

The four females in the household tested this.  When approached, my husband declined, saying; “it’s a girly thing, if it tasted like beer it would be ok for me!”.

Ingredients:

Ingredients. Cera flava (Beeswax), Butyrospermum parkii (Fairly Traded Organically grown Shea Butter), Prunus dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Alcohol (Champagne).  Parfum: Citral, Citronellol, Limonene, Linalool.

First Impression

Very cute packaging, simple but very effective. The Pink Champagne Lip Balm is in a 15ml clear plastic pot, it has a white plastic screw on lid which is covered by a pink label.   When you take off the lid you are immediately met with an absolutely delicious smell that makes your mouth water.

The Verdict

This is a bit of a contradiction for me as I hate skincare products that are scented or smell strongly but this lip balm smells absolutely divine.  I cannot fully explain the gorgeousness of the smell emanating from this, it has to be sniffed to be believed.   When I removed the lid from the pot and asked the girls to smell the lip balm, all three of them had exactly the same reaction; “Mmmm!”.

This Pink Champagne lip balm, smells of raspberries and blackcurrents, both the smell and taste of it remind me of a Kir Royal.

I applied the clear lip balm and wasn’t disappointed with how it went on.  It wasn’t at all thick or sticky and felt really nice on your lips.  The consistency of the balm in the pot is fairly solid so you only needed to lightly rub your finger over the surface and then transfer it onto your lips.

One thing I would like to see on the product labelling which is located on the base is pot is a full list of ingredients.  It currently says, “For ingredients visit www.littlecotesoap.co.uk”.   I think they are missing out on potential customers with this, anyone who suffers from allergies will know how important it is to be able to clearly see what allergens are contained within a product.  For many people this is a critical step in the product selection and purchasing process.

I think that these lip balms are ideal for stocking fillers or make a perfect little gift (treat yourself!).  I will definitely be purchasing some of these to add in with my friends birthday pressies.

Price : £4.00  from Fenwicks department Store.   I have emailed the company and asked for a list of stockists – will update this post when I hear back from them.

Comments

  1. Thank you very much for your kind comments on our Handmade Pink Champagne Lip Balm. I do agree with you about the ingredients listings and this is something that I am working on. There is not enough room on the pot to show the ingredients legibly as they would have to be so small that you couldn’t read them. We have been looking at having boxes made for the balms, but this is a very costly exercise as we have several different natural balms and are bringing out more next year, so we are currently saving up!
